Coming Soon: Detangling

Over the past 7 months, I’ve had the pleasure of writing this Substack. I started writing it for mostly selfish reasons. It has served as a means of healing for my heart and a place to process. But what has surprised me has been the feedback I’ve received.

It’s not just helping me, it’s helping many of you. So many people have commented that this Substack has given language to what we’re all feeling and experiencing. The comment section has given me a lot of encouragement over this past year.

Many of us are on a journey of sifting and detangling. We all want to know “What is real? What do the words in red actually say?”

With this in mind, I am starting a new series called “Detangling”.

This won’t be more of my ramblings, but curated, written interviews with people that I believe will help us all feel validated, gain language for what we’re experiencing, and shed light onto the church and its hidden beauty and overt dysfunction.

They are also deeply fascinating people that I’m thrilled to learn more about. And I think you will too.

And this isn’t just meant for people who are interested in the IHOPKC story either. I believe these stories will help believers from every corner.

This new series will include two monthly written interviews with people like:

• Jane Doe

• Dwayne Roberts

• A former worship leader at IHOPKC

• Many others

I want to hear these people’s intimate stories. I also want to know how the last year has changed them and their relationships with the Lord. I want to hear their takes on how the church needs reform and how we can all grow.

This is not a series meant to air the world’s dirty laundry, give everyone the hot gossip, or incite bitterness and anger in my readers.

I want these interviews to bring hope.

I want people to read these interviews and go “Hey! I’ve felt like before too!”

I want these interviewees, some of whom are my dear friends, to be able to share how they’ve grown and experienced this past year, and the church at large.
